I have now tried just about everything including updating all the drivers and software; applying patches and hotfixes; re-installing Windows to the “out of box” state etc, etc. I might have a solution to this annoying problem of the wifi hardware not working after sleep. Do you have latest BIOS version? I have not been able to download from Atheros though as I can not find any links. Reconnect everything again and wifi should now work automatically after sleep hibernate and restart. When I connect to my home network it will connect then drop out a matter of minutes later and not find my home network again even though its still there on other devices. At 1st this would seem a modem problem yet the connection is fine and other units can connect to it, ie other laptop and tablet.

I tried reinstalling all suggested software from this forum but nothing work. Then I held the power button down on the laptop for over thirty seconds. The problem I have is rather unusual. I am at a loss to know where to go from here.
Had the machine for a week, and it will probably be returned to dealer if I can’t fix this. Well for me anyway, it is as you say Macbook51, it is netwotk simple as disconnecting the power ,750 pulling the battery out!!!!! Checked the BIOS to ensure it is not disabling the adapter. I had same exact problem you had. Adapter is disabled on boot or after waking up and the wireless LED not lit when connected.
I have looked at threads and cant find much help.

This is what ive done to no avail: It could be possible that there is some issue Would recommend doing this: I also did not have the wireless light. If not try to fix this with BIOS update. I have now tried just about everything including updating all the drivers and software; applying patches and hotfixes; re-installing Windows to the “out of box” state etc, etc.
If I reboot modem I can sometimes satllite it to show up again and then the problem repeats. Reconnect everything again and wifi should now work automatically after sleep hibernate and restart. You are correct in your understanding of the problem. So far so eatellite but time will tell.
Any help would be appreciated.
I fixed a set channel channel 11 after reading somewhere online that it helped. I assume that it is as no update is available. Unfortunately the Bluetooth drivers will now not load either. Then I read to pull the battery with all power OFF for 2 min Most times I do this and its not on the list as available connections.
The machine is only a few weeks old and was working ok to start with. Hi, I too have an L which has the same problem. Do you have latest BIOS version? I also had some problems with wifi stability on one notebook, the settings above helped, and then new drivers and new firmware solved the problem.
Hi Tony and thank you for your input.

It works now A OK. If I make my smart phone android a wifi hotspot I can connect to that and have no dramas whatsoever. What worked for me was to remove the laptop battery and unplug the power adapter. I have not been able to download from Atheros though as I can not find any links.

Re-installed the drivers from both the Toshiba web site and from the Applications and Drivers in the Toshiba directory.
